My name is Hylemariam Mihiretie Mengist, born and brought up in Ethiopia. I was graduated from Haramaya University with bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and from Addis Ababa University with master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science specialized in Diagnostic & Public Health Microbiology in 2014. Since then, I have been working in Ethiopian Universities with major duties including teaching, research, community service and clinical service. During my tenure, I have published research and review articles in peer reviewed journals, served as invited reviewer of peer reviewed journals, presented papers in national and international conferences and supervised BSc and MSc theses.In September 2018, I joined the research group of Professor Jin Tengchuan to pursue my Ph.D. degree in the field of biochemistry & molecular biology. Currently I am working on molecular mechanisms of hemoglobin adaptation to different altitudes and gene regulation of breast cancer metastasis.
